GPS trackers are a great way of locating your pet immediately. They should be paired with a Microchip and tags just in case your pet loses their collar or escapes without a collar on.

There are a few very good options available.  TAGG will give precise location of your pet.  Mobile also offers a tracker devise.  Both have monthly fees of approximately $10 or less.
